International Patient Services

Coordinated regenerative medicine care for patients travelling to Mexico.

CELLMEX assists international patients with medical-record review, physician evaluation, treatment planning, appointment coordination, travel preparation and structured follow-up after returning home.

Medical review should take place before travel is arranged

International patients should not purchase airline tickets or make non-refundable travel arrangements before their medical information has been reviewed.

CELLMEX begins with a remote review of the patient's diagnosis, medical history, laboratory results, imaging, current medications and previous treatments.

A qualified physician then determines whether further consultation is appropriate and whether the patient may be considered for treatment.

If the patient is accepted, CELLMEX provides a proposed clinical plan, anticipated length of stay, preparation requirements and estimated costs before the patient confirms travel.

Support before, during and after your visit

Our international patient process is designed to reduce uncertainty and ensure that medical and travel arrangements are coordinated in the correct order.

01

Preliminary Medical Review

Review of the patient's diagnosis, physician reports, laboratory results, imaging, medication history and previous procedures before travel.

02

Remote Physician Consultation

Where appropriate, the patient may participate in a remote consultation to discuss the medical condition, objectives, limitations and possible next steps.

03

Treatment Planning

Accepted patients receive a proposed clinical pathway explaining the procedure, preparation, anticipated schedule, monitoring and follow-up.

04

Written Cost Estimate

Treatment-related costs are explained before scheduling. Travel, accommodation and personal expenses are normally separate unless expressly included.

05

Travel and Appointment Coordination

The international patient team can assist with appointment timing, recommended arrival dates, transportation information and accommodation guidance.

06

Follow-Up After Returning Home

Follow-up may include remote consultations, symptom monitoring, laboratory review and communication with the patient's local physician.

Preparing for medical travel to Mexico

Exact travel requirements depend on the patient's condition, mobility, proposed treatment and need for post-treatment observation.

Recommended Arrival

Patients may be asked to arrive before treatment for an in-person consultation, physical examination, laboratory testing or final medical clearance.

Length of Stay

The required stay varies by procedure. Some patients may require only several days, while others may need a longer period for multiple appointments, observation or follow-up.

Travelling Companion

Patients with limited mobility, complex conditions, language needs or sedation-related procedures may be advised to travel with a responsible adult.

Medical travel requires responsible planning

  • Patients must disclose their full medical history, medications, allergies and previous procedures.
  • Travel should not be undertaken when the patient's medical condition is unstable.
  • Patients should not stop prescribed medicines unless instructed by a qualified physician.
  • Potential treatment risks and travel-related risks must be considered separately.
  • International patients should maintain travel insurance and understand its exclusions.
  • No ethical medical provider can guarantee a cure or specific clinical result.

Questions from international patients

Can I travel?
Travel suitability depends on your medical condition, stability, mobility, recent procedures and the proposed treatment. Some patients may require written medical clearance from their regular physician before flying. CELLMEX should review your medical records before you make travel arrangements.
How long must I stay?
The required length of stay varies according to the treatment, number of appointments, need for preliminary testing and post-treatment observation. Some patients may remain for several days, while others may require a longer stay. Your anticipated schedule will be provided after medical review.
Do you assist with logistics and travel planning?
CELLMEX may assist with recommended arrival dates, appointment scheduling, nearby accommodation, local transportation information and general travel coordination. Patients remain responsible for passports, visas, airline reservations, accommodation contracts and personal travel expenses unless otherwise stated in writing.
What medical records are needed?
Patients are normally asked to provide a confirmed diagnosis, recent physician reports, laboratory results, imaging reports and images, current medications, previous treatment records and any relevant surgical, pathology or hospital reports. Additional records may be requested depending on the condition.
Should I purchase airline tickets before submitting my records?
No. Patients should wait until their records have been reviewed and CELLMEX has confirmed medical acceptance, proposed appointment dates and the anticipated length of stay.
Does submitting my records guarantee treatment?
No. Medical-record submission begins the review process but does not guarantee treatment. The clinical team may request further testing, specialist clearance or advise that treatment is not appropriate.
How much does treatment cost?
Treatment costs depend on the diagnosis, proposed biological product or procedure, number of sessions, clinical monitoring and follow-up requirements. Eligible patients receive a written treatment plan and cost estimate before scheduling. Airline, accommodation and personal travel expenses are generally separate.
Can a family member travel with me?
Yes. In some cases, travelling with a responsible companion is strongly recommended, particularly for patients with limited mobility, language difficulties, complex medical conditions or procedures requiring additional assistance.
Can CELLMEX communicate with my physician at home?
With the patient's written authorisation, CELLMEX may communicate relevant information to the patient's regular physician or specialist and provide treatment or follow-up documentation.
What happens after I return home?
International patients may receive discharge instructions, scheduled remote follow-up, recommendations for laboratory or imaging review, and guidance regarding symptoms that should be reported promptly.
